Planet Zoo 2: Signs Indicate a Sequel Could Arrive Sooner Than Expected
Frontier Developments has not officially announced a sequel to its highly popular zoo simulation game, Planet Zoo. However, recent changes to the game’s official YouTube channel have led to speculation that Planet Zoo 2 might be on the way.
YouTube Channel Changes Spark Speculation
As reported by Eurogamer, the YouTube channel for the Planet Zoo franchise has seen some curious updates. Both the header image and avatar now prominently display a '2' at the end, which many interpret as a strong suggestion of an upcoming sequel.
While no official announcement has been made, this update is more than just a subtle nod—it’s practically an unofficial confirmation.
Previous Hints from Frontier Developments
The idea of a sequel isn’t entirely out of the blue. Late last year, Frontier released a trailer celebrating Planet Zoo’s sixth anniversary, where the company hinted that a follow-up title was already in development. However, this new update is the clearest indication yet that not only is the game in the works, but it may also be approaching release.
Could more details emerge during the upcoming Summer Games Fest? Time will tell, but fans are eagerly awaiting further announcements.
Planet Zoo: A Fan-Favorite Park Management Game
Planet Zoo has received widespread acclaim for its gameplay and design. In our review, we called it a "deeply satisfying park management game featuring a diverse array of beautifully animated animals." It’s no surprise that anticipation for a sequel is running high among fans.
