Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol – Official Announcement and Details
Prepare your Senzu beans and get ready—a groundbreaking update has just been revealed about a brand-new Dragon Ball Super anime series coming soon.
The announcement was made during the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event in Japan, where voice actress Masako Nozawa and Dragon Ball producer Akio Iyoku took center stage to unveil the project.
Setting and Story Arc
Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol takes place following the conclusion of the Universe Survival Arc. It will adapt the manga’s Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc, featuring an intense collaboration between Goku and Vegeta.
This time, they confront Planet-Eater Moro, a powerful energy-absorbing sorcerer whose insatiable hunger threatens entire worlds. Their battle begins after a massive prison escape—setting the stage for a galaxy-spanning mission to protect New Namek, Moro’s next target.
Production Status and Timeline
The animation process is already in progress, though an official release date remains unannounced.
This series marks a pivotal return: no new Dragon Ball Super anime episodes have aired since 2018. During this hiatus, fans immersed themselves in Dragon Ball Daima—a separate anime installment set chronologically between Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super.
First Visuals and Expectations
To date, only one promotional image has been shared: Goku and Vegeta in their iconic heroic stance. Based on the story arc, fans can look forward to dramatic transformations—and yes, an abundance of rapid hair-color changes is a given.
