Red Dead Redemption 2 - 8K caused severe damage to Nvidia Titan RTX graphics
One of the best Red Dead Redemption 2 Rockstar Key Global missions is to see Arthur and Lenny completely destroyed in a Valentine's room. What would happen if you were drunk all the time in the epic Rockstar cowgirl?
You can get drunk in classrooms, but it is better because you can get maximum intoxication at the touch of a button, the screen is not completely distorted and stunned and you can turn it off immediately.
One of the best things about Red Dead Redemption 2 for PCs is its ability to work with ultra-high resolutions that game consoles can only dream of. Then we did it with a resolution of 8 KB to see how it works.
The results are not entirely surprising: a powerful gaming platform with an Nvidia Titan RTX graphics card with a value of $2499 can hardly run the game at a playable frame rate.
Given the visual quality of Red Dead Redemption 2, we expected much worse performance because the game in 8K is essentially a good slide show. In fact, the game with the large resolution of 7,680 × 4,320 was not far away.
With a resolution of 8K and all the parameters that last until it stops, Red Dead Redemption reaches an average of 18.65 frames per second at the reference point. It looked good, but it also resulted in a very uneven performance and well below the 60 frames per second (or more) we expected from the best PC games, without demand.
It should also be noted that visual fidelity has not significantly improved from 4K to 8K, it is certainly not enough to justify the drop in performance. This is because Red Dead Redemption 2 was designed for 4K, but the textures point to this resolution because it is so rare in 8K that the assets were not created to use 8K.
